You Shine

Hi everyone!  I hope you guys all had a fabulous week!  I can't believe it's the last day of March!  This year is flying by.  We've had some beauitful sunny weather down here in South Texas and it really has me in the mood for bright and sunny cards.

It was so simple to make my pretty ribbon sun.
  1. Cut a 1-1/2" circle with your die cutting machine  or circle punch.
  2. Ink the edges of the circle....I used Tim Holtz
  3. Cut four pieces of  2"long Satin Ribbon Swiss Dot in Lemon
  4. Cut eight 2" long pieces of Lemon Double Faced Satin ribbon,
  5. Trim and heat seal the ends
  6. Hot glue the ribbon pieces to the back circle

Sunset Beach ♥

Happy Friday crafty friends! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity here today to share a little layout that I made this past week!

I'm not really a layout girl, but I have been enjoying making them lately! Especially since I have a ton of lovely ribbons to add to them!

I made this layout with one of my favorite photos from my beach wedding in Sunset Beach, NC.

Layering ribbons is a great way to break up the page when you want to use 2 different patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by today!

♥♥♥Happy Birthday♥♥♥Z-Fold

Hello everyone, and happy Thursday to all! Today I'm sharing a Z-fold card I made for my niece Shaelynn's 2nd Birthday using Really Reasonable Ribbon's Blue Jay Seam Binding.

I used the Blue Jay seam binding and ruched it up to hold the banner, then I hot glued the pennants on to the ruched seam binding. I then added some small bows to the edges and added buttons to their centers, all with hot glue.

I then thought adding four bows to the corners would be cute, so I made tiny ones using the same seam binding. I think I want to add 2nd somewhere on this card to represent her 2nd birthday done in matching stickers.

I used all CottageCutz dies for the pennants, floral flowers and circle frame. My image is Buffy the bunny from the Pixie Cottage Stamps. I colored her with Copics and then cut her out.
Really Reasonable Ribbon used - Blue Jay Seam Binding
Bonnie carries tons of colors in the seam binding and right now is having a SALE that ends tonight, so if you are wanting to stock up on seam binding ,now would be the time :)

Here is the inside and I added Birthday with the same stickers that I used on the pennant banner.

I love using the seam binding since you can easily pull a thread from one end to give it the ruched look. I normally will cut the one end, and then find a thread in the center to pull, thats how it is done.

Here is how the card can stand

Also, I wanted to let you know that today is the last day of

Doll House Bedroom Set

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share my Doll House Bedroom set.  Have you seen the new collection, "Little Darlings", by Graphic 45?  As soon as I saw the sneak peeks of this line, I knew it would become a favorite.  I actually drove for 6 hours in snow and ice to get my little hands on this!  I had no idea of the weather forecast when I took off for Archivers in Des Moines, IA...but I have it now and I made sure I bought plenty to last me for awhile.  LOL!
It was well worth the trip and I've made several projects already.  I've used Really Reasonable Ribbon, Beatrice White Crocheted Lace for the trim on the bed.  Love the laces and trim that Bonnie carries in the store.  They're the perfect width for so many projects!
Night Stand and Frame
See why I'm smitten with this line?  Every single paper in this collection is just gorgeous!

Welcome Baby!

It is always such a delight to make a baby card for a new little one!

I love how easy it is to pleat ribbon using Scor - Tape! I laid a thin line across the top panel, and then just gathered my White Sheer Organza ribbon as I went along. The Cotton Candy Baker's Twine keeps it all in place!

The sentiment really does say "Welcome Little One" -- I just took my photo at an angle that doesn't show the complete "W". The pearls are my favorite: Blush by Kaiser. There are so many beautiful colors in the RRR Store!

I added some tiny pearls to the center of the pacifier:
My image is watercolored with dye inks and a watercolor brush and stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember, you have only a few days left to apply for the RRR Design Team!
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Cranberry Crisp
Paper: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Rose Romance, Rose Red Prints DP, watercolor
Accessories and Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Kaiser Blush Pearls, Prima paper rose, Really Reasonable Ribbon White Sheer Organza with Satin Center and Cotton Candy Baker's Twine

Loopy Ribbon Flower Tutorial

Several people requested a tutorial on how to make the loopy petal flowers I showed on my March Blog Hop projects.  I saw this idea a while back over at Cosmo Cricket using their glubers, although any large glue dot will work.  I originally used one ribbon for the entire flower, but if you hop over to my MakeTime2Craft blog, you'll see that it's also fun to use several different ribbons on each flower.

For the card above I used a 1" glue dot and only did two rounds of loops instead of 3 to get the smaller flower. I also used purchased leaves on this one.

Loopy Ribbon Flower Tutorial

 Supplies needed:

·       2" Glubers or Glue Dots XXL

·       Scissors

·       2-3 yards of 3/8" Really Reasonable Ribbon - I used Pastel Multi-Stripe Grosgrain for the tutorial

·       button or something to cover center

1. Since my ribbon is printed on one side and white on the back, I'm starting with the printed side down.  Adhere about 3/16" of the ribbon to the adhesive dot.

2. Then you want to make a loop and bring the ribbon back to adhere again.  You want to just catch the ribbon to the right of the first piece.  The glue dots are super sticky, so you don't need much ribbon to touch in order for it to stay put.

3.  Keep making new loops, trying to keep them even in loop length until you get around the outside of the glue dot.

4. Once you meet your first loop back at the beginning, extend the ribbon down about another 3/16" so you are ready to start the next inner row.  Then keep working around the same as the first row.

5.  Once you get all the way around again, you will do the same thing for the final inner ring.

6.  At the very end, clip the ribbon and press it firmly on the little patch of adhesive left in the center of the flower.

7.  Take the button or flower center of your choice and adhere it with your choice of adhesives.  I used a pop-up glue dot, but anything will work.

I decided I would like to add a couple of leaves to my flower this time, so I created some with grosgrain.  Leaves are optional, but I think it gives it a nice touch.

Leaves - Tutorial

Supplies needed:

1-1/2" wide Grosgrain Ribbon

1/8" Scor-Tape (or sewing machine)

Scissors

Bone Folder

1.  Cut a piece of 1-1/2" grosgrain approximately 4" long.  Take a 2" piece of 1/8" Scor-Tape and adhere to the ribbon beginning at the middle and angling out to the edge.

2.  Fold the ribbon in half and use your bone folder to make sure the tape is really adhered.  Alternately, you could sew a little dart with your sewing machine.  (I just didn't feel like getting it our for such a small project.)

3.  Round the end of the ribbon in a leaf-like shape.  No need to draw a line - I just did that to show you what I meant.

4.  Now you have a nice looking leaf.  I also took a lighter and sealed the cuts I made so there will be no fraying.  Just lightly run the lighter quickly along the edge, or you can use a product like fray-check.

5.  Then I just trimmed the bottom of the leaf on an angle so it's ready to adhere to your flower.

You can pull back the adhesive cover a bit on the back of the flower and attach the leaves where you want them.

This flower is a great addition to a card, but you could also use it for a fun pin - I think it would look great on a jeans jacket!  It's also great to add to a tote bag or a fancy wrapped gift.

For more information and an additional project, stop by my blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
