God Bless America Card

Hi friends.  We just celebrated Memorial Day yesterday here in the US and I couldn't resist one more Patriotic themed card featuring beautiful red, white and blue ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon along with some beautiful dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I created my beautiful bi-color double-loop bow using Red and Electric Blue 5/8" Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon on my Bow-it-All V3.0.  I also ran a piece of the Electric Blue ribbon across the card and topped it with a piece of White 3/8" Diamond Satin Ribbon.

For a video tutorial on how to make this beautiful bow, please click HERE.

The NEW Bow-it-All V3.0 Tools are NOW IN STOCK AND SHIPPING NOW.

Repairing "Glue Issues" with Lace

Hello, friends of Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's Karen Letchworth sharing today, and I have a helpful hint that will allow you to "erase your mistakes" so to speak.    I learned this technique by accident (and out of necessity), but I've now mastered it so that it looks like it was intentional; and that's the whole point.  Really Reasonable Ribbon carries 49 different styles of just their Crochet Lace, and they're priced to sell.  Any of these ribbons would work for this repair tip.
When you're adding paper flowers, leaves, felt flowers, ribbons or lace, and you have a little glop of glue that doesn't look becomingly; you are able to easily hide your blunder by taking a small snippet of Crochet Lace and "pinching it together" with hot glue, and working it into place with your metal poker tool.  Just tuck it right in that little nook or cranny, and it hides your glop of messy hot glue.  No one will ever know that you had made a messy mistake.  The sweet little touches of lace tucked in are so sweet, and like I said earlier they look like you put them there intentionally.
This card was created using one piece of patterned paper that was inked in black.  There's a button card (which is recycled packing from a package of buttons), and on top of that I added some rolled felt flowers, 33mm Green Leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts, Deep Ivory Open Roses, Black Open Roses, and several small pieces of the lovely Chloe Natural Crochet Lace.
That big beautiful bow at the top right of that card was creating using Black Seam Binding, Cream Seam Biding, Black Burlap String, and Ivory Burlap String in the bow and threaded through the vintage cream button in its center.  There's a small tag cut from patterned paper that has some Vintage Black Soot Scotch Tape on it, and the sentiment (hello) was cut from ivory cardstock three times and layered.

There are so many great ways to repurpose tiny pieces of ribbon and lace.  I keep my lace snippets in one jar, and my ribbon snippets in another.  They come in quite handy every now and then.  I hope you've enjoyed this little tip about covering glue mistakes by tucking in a piece of lace, and would also love to have you stop by and participate in our Current Challenge.  There's always lots of great inspiration here on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog so be sure to stop back by often.

Have a creative week,
Karen Letchworth and the RRR Team

Secret Garden Miracles

Hi all,
It's me Deborah,  sharing a card I created using two ribbons that look like one.
As soon as I saw the White Satin double ruffle ribbon and the Ric Rac flowered yellow  I knew I had to try this idea that popped into my head. I was so excited that it worked and I love the way it looks! So now that I know it looks great, I totally gotta try the other colors. I hope you all try it too.

So I used Graphic 45 Secret Garden Collection, 'cause I just had to use yellow and green, it's so pretty. I cut about a 6 inch piece of the White Satin double ruffle ribbon and Ric Rac flowered yellow took a piece of 1/4 inch score tape and adhered them together. I then tied a little white bow using the white satin double ribbon, I just love this ruffly ribbon, and cut a "V" on the edges of my tails. It turned out so cute.  I added my Wild Orchid flowers along with green leaves and that's it. Super easy card. I did do some fussy cutting, which was the little bird in the nest and layered the cut apart card on top. I found a little circle cutout in my stash inked it with powder puff inks. I placed some white corner stickers in the four corners. I really think these two ribbons created a beautiful look to the card along with the flowers.
Ric Rac flowered yellow  adhered in the middle
and a tiny white bow.
I also used Wild Orchid Flowers. I just love the White Cherry Blossom Flowers
together with the Sweetheart Blossoms 2-toned Yellow is just beautiful
along with the Green leaf ribbons tucked in a few spots.
I love the green and yellow with white, it's one of my favorite color combos.
I hope you enjoyed the card and try to use this idea for some of your projects. Thank you for stopping by and stay crafty. Don't forget to join our challenges. You can use this idea on one of your cards.

Hugs

Be Happy

Hooray! It's the weekend!

So does that mean more crafty time for you? Do you have a big picnic planned for the holiday? Whatever you do, I hope the sun shines bright on you and your loved ones! :)

When I first saw this image, the little girl's joy was so contagious! I couldn't help but pair her with the 'be happy' sentiment die! :)

And nothing says 'happy' like the color yellow, so I grabbed some of the cheery 5/8" maize taffeta ribbon to tie a big bow. a bit of light pink mini ric rac adds the perfect accent to the bow. One of my fellow DT members gives me a hard time for saving all of my little teeny tiny bits of ribbon, but doesn't the little pop of bright green swiss dot grosgrain look perfect here?! I thought so, too. tee hee!

A wonderful bouquet of assorted Wild Orchid Crafts mulberry flowers make a lush topper of sunshine!

"You Shine" Lighthouse Birthday Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  It's Kathy here with a great summer birthday card idea for the lighthouse lover near you.
I can almost feel the salt spray on my face and hear the crashing waves on the shore.  I used Webster's Pages Yacht Club papers to make this card.  It's an oldie but a goodie from my stash.  I fussy cut the lighthouse, flowers and ship's wheel from the paper collection, inked all the edges and then layered them with foam dots to create lots of dimension.
There was so much grey in the color palette that I wanted to punch things up with my ribbon choice.  I turned to the May Ribbon Club Assortment and found that the Poppy Red Double Faced Satin was just the right ribbon for the job!  The silky texture and bold color really pumped up the volume of this nautical card. I topped it with a hemp string bow and a sparkly blue button.  These elements really brought the card to life.
There's a little gift card pocket on the front of the card, and I cut down part of the designer paper to make this cute tag to tuck inside.  And a gift card would fit in there, too.  The tag is topped with twisted hemp cord for even more of a nautical feel.
Here's a look at the decorated interior of the card.
I stamped the birthday sentiment onto grey cardstock.
And because I love pockets, I had to make another one.  This one holds a little notecard that I created using designer paper from the collection.  I left this blank so that the sender can add their own personal note here.

This month's ribbon collection is so versatile.  I've used it on a farm themed card, a true blue patriotic portfolio, and now on this nautical birthday card.  If you haven't signed up for the monthly ribbon club yet, I highly recommend it.  It's always a treat to work with high quality ribbon!  You can find all the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all enjoy a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Cheerio,
kathy

Star Spangled Banner

Hello folks!  Cherry  here to share a card.  Summer is quickly approaching - so they say anyways.  You wouldn't know it to look at our weather.  The 4th is in the horizon so I have another fun patriotic cutie to share.

A fun rosette paired with a hand glittered star ...................

I used a patriotic blending of glory blue, white, and lipstick red seam binding.
Some fun old fashion images paired with a gorgeous silver flourish.  I also topped my ribbons off with a red cherry blossom flower.
That is it for me..........................enjoy, Cherry

Wooden Ribbon Stand

Hello everyone, and Happy Tuesday! Cheryl here with a Super FUN Wooden Ribbon Stand( HOLDER) decorated for Really Reasonable Ribbon! I had my husband make me 2 of these stands, and thought how fun to decorate using Really Reasonable Ribbon items. I love having the ribbon on these as I no longer have a big mess on my work station. You can add what you need to them for a project, and it's all in one place, not scattered about your work space...hehehehe
So we started with picking the bases out, and a dowel. Next I painted them white, and added some beautiful Grosgrain Polka Dot Ribbon, and Red Mini Ric Rac around the base. Next I took the Moss Green Seam binding and ruched it up for greenery, and then added some Sweetheart Blossoms, and 2 Lipstick Red Seam Binding flowers I created.
These stands are perfect for holding the spools from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and I am so glad to have these now, as I always have tons of spools all over my work station, and this way I can have them all on this. Makes crafting much easier, and these are very cheap to make!

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, thank you for looking and PLEASE let me know what you think!!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

Just Say "Thanks"

Welcome back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, everyone!  It's Karen Letchworth here today sharing a simple thank you card.  Saying "thanks" can mean SO much to someone.  Never underestimate how much it might mean to someone to hear that one simple little word.   I try my best to send a thank you note every time someone does something kind for me just to express my gratitude, and to let them know how grateful I am for the "little things".  Sometimes a person will say, "it was no big deal"; but in reality they feel very touched that you've taken the time to thank them.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has so many great ribbons, trims, and flowers to help you make a fabulous card to tell someone "thanks".
I recently ordered some of the Teal Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon (among other things), and I just wanted to create a card to show you all how much a simple trim like baker's twine can add to a card.  Really Reasonable Ribbon carries 40 different colors of Baker's Twine, and they're all GORGEOUS and really add that special touch.
I created this card with some scraps of patterned paper that I attached together using my Scor-Tape (and this fabulous adhesive comes in a variety of different widths for various projects).  Next, I stamped a background stamp onto a small glassine bag that I attached to the card. I added a small piece of washi tape, a stamped mini tag with a tiny tea-stained wooden clothespin, some sequins, and a tag tucked into the glassine bag.  Then, I ran a nice long length of the beautiful Teal Baker's Twine around my card, and also ran the Teal Baker's Twine through a coordinating teal button and tied a bow with it.
I also used the Scor-Tape to attach my sequins, my tiny tag with the tea-stained clothespin, glassine bag, and the doily.  Scor-Tape is an amazing adhesive that really sticks well to pretty much everything.  This photo (above) also reallly shows you how beautiful that Teal Baker's Twine really is.

I really encourage you to pick up some Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  You can get a 10-yard roll of Baker's Twine (in any color) for just ONE DOLLAR.  That means if you spent just $40, you could get 400 yards of baker's twine (ten yards of each of their 40 gorgeous colors).  What a bargain!  This lovely trim is so versatile, and always adds just the right accent to any card or project, and is great for tying on buttons, stringing through tags, and using to beautifully accent your artwork in a soft, sweet way that really adds a special touch.

We also invite you to stop by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to play along in our CURRENT CHALLENGE.  We love seeing your creativity, and hope that you will link up your cards and projects in our challenge.  We'd love to see how you use your baker's twine, ribbons and trims.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderfully creative week.
